Uzbekistan's Silk Road - October 7-15, 2026 (9 days/8 nights)

Upon arrival at the Tashkent International Airport (TAS) you will be met by a representative of Better Adventures in the arrivals hall and enjoy a city tour of Tashkent, one of Central Asia’s oldest cities and Uzbekistan’s capital, where rich history blends with striking Soviet-era architecture. Visit the Museum of Applied Art, Independence Square, the ornate Tashkent Metro, and the Opera Theatre area. Continue to the historic old town and Khast Imam Square, the city’s religious center, home to notable monuments. The experience concludes at Kukeldash Madrassah and the vibrant Chorsu Bazaar, a centuries-old Silk Road market that remains a lively hub of local life today.  

Check-in to the hotel and enjoy some free time to settle in and freshen up.

This evening, gather for a welcome reception, followed by a dinner at a local restaurant.

This morning, transfer to the domestic airport for the flight to Nukus. Upon arrival, visit the Savitsky Museum of Arts and its excellent Russian avant-garde collection. 

After lunch at a local restaurant, drive to Khiva with stops at the ruins of the ancient fortresses Shylpyk-Kala, a Zoroastrian dakhma, and Toprak-Kala, the capital of Khorezm in the 3rd century.

The evening is at leisure.

Travel to elegant Turin for a guided tour of its landmarks, including the Mole Antonelliana, Royal Palace, and Chapel of the Holy Shroud. Savor lunch and stroll through the city’s grand piazzas and palaces.

Explore the picturesque village of Barolo, visit the Wine Museum and historic castle, and indulge in tastings of Barolo and Barbaresco—Piedmont’s most celebrated Nebbiolo wines.

Learn the secrets of local cheese aging in traditional caves, then enjoy a tasting of artisan cheeses. In the afternoon, explore the Langhe hills on a walking tour. 

Join the group for a special dinner at a Michelin-star restaurant.

Join a truffle hunter and his dog in the woods near Asti, followed by a traditional lunch featuring freshly gathered truffles. Later, sample Barbera d’Asti wines at a local estate. 

Start your day with a deliciously immersive cooking class and lunch, followed by a free afternoon in and around Alba to browse shops, sip coffee, take in local festivals, or explore on your own. 

Enjoy a festive farewell dinner in Alba celebrating the region’s food and wines. 

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the Turin (TRN), Genoa (GOA) or Milan Malpensa (MXP) airport for your flight home.
